Why Domino’s Shop?
Mommy cat showed up in June of 2020 with 4 darling kitties. She had been eating at the feeding station and was now showing her kits where to get yummy food and clean water.
The kittens were growing up and I had to do something so I didn’t end up with 500 cats around here!
So, in August of that year, I got all 4 kitties, Mommy cat and her sister, Silkie, trapped and spayed/neutered with the help of a local feral cat group. Three of these cats were socialized, but there were not enough foster homes during the lockdowns to take them. All of the cats were brought back to my house!
And I suddenly had a future of taking care of all of these cats!
Since that summer, the cat family dwindled down to 3 boy cats – Pants, Spot and Domino.
Once in awhile, I will see Silkie eating at the feeding station…
The boys were friendly, tame and even came into my house to explore. And soon, when it was really cold out, they would occasionally stay inside overnight. They are good house guests.
But they wanted to go back outside when the weather warmed up.
And then one day, Domino showed up for supper with a severely broken leg.
Emergency vet.
Xrays.
Prognosis of amputation!
Yike$ !
I was lucky to find a vet who would try a surgery to save Domino’s leg!
Currently, Domino is awaiting his second surgery to repair his leg.
He will be an inside cat from now on, which presents a whole new level of challenges for me!
And, another cat showed up during this time. He had a severely injured face and needed to be neutered. I took him to the low cost spay/neuter place and they fixed him, checked his face, and then returned him to me here for recovery, and possibly a new home.
Teddy No-Nose did stay around for his recovery, but then he moved on to somewhere else.
I don’t know what happened to him, but he is not procreating any more!
It takes time, effort and money to do these things and care for these cats. I can’t do it alone.
I hope you find something that you like on Domino’s Store – it helps me to help the kitties.
Thank you!
